Regular Season Done, Alot of Hockey Left!
The Synders Graphics PeeWee girls have finished their regular season with a win and a tie in the final couple of games.  With this done, the girls still have a bunch of hockey left as they will await to find out who we will play in playoffs.  We will also be doing playdowns for a spot to compete at Provincials and Silver Stick this weekend!

On Thursday Jan 28th our girls played their last regular season game at home against the BAD Blazers and they wanted to put on a good show and they did exactly that.  Everyone had their game faces on to start the game and take it right to the end! With less than a minute into the game, Emma French scored to break things open from the stick of Maggie Price.  This pace continued for the remainder of the game and just a few minutes later, Taya Cornish would add another to increase our lead to 2, this time Sydney Ryan would earn the assist.  The first period would come to an end with our high flying Meteors up by 2.  Second and third period were pretty exciting to watch as both teams played very aggressive.  Lots of shots were taken but the BAD goalie and our Makayla Beuerman denied their every chance.  As the clock was counting down near the end of the third, the Blazers pulled the goalie for the extra attacker but with a dash of speed and her linemates to help keep the other team out of her way, Emma French accepted a pass from Taya Cornish to bury it in the empty net.  This would seal the win, the shutout and the 3-0 victory.  Great team effort to go into our final regular season game on Saturday againist the Irish.
Saturday around supper time was our final regular game in Lucan.  Our battles this season with the Irish have been back and fourth as we are both pretty even.  Maggie Price would open the scoring in this game unassisted from a beautiful shot from the point.  This would be the only scoring during this period.  The second period was back and forth as Lucan was able to get on the board but 10 seconds after they tied the game, Brooklyn Gethke would score with Emma French passing the puck to her stick.  With the period coming to an end, Lucan would score once again to tie the game.  With just 12 minutes left in this barn burner, Emma French would score to give us the lead with Brooklyn Gethke giving the help this time.  With the puck traveling from end to end, Emma French would score again to give us the 4-2 lead but that wasn't enough as Lucan would make a couple of nice plays and set them up to tie the game at 4 and that is where it ended.
The girls will now look forward to a tournament this weekend in Saugeen Shores playing in Silver Stick.  Good luck this weekend girls!
