Good Start to League Playoffs
The Synders Graphics PeeWee Girls have played their first of many league playoffs game this past Sunday in Lucan and were victorious!

On Sunday the team was able travel to Lucan to take on our rival the Irish.  So far this year, it has been pretty even with them as we each have won and tied.  The girls were keen and ready to pounce as soon as that puck was dropped.  First period was back and fourth as both teams wanted the first all important goal but nothing would be settled and it would remain scoreless.  Time for a quick break and a pep talk from our coach, hopefully gave our mighty Meteors the fuel they needed to break the deadlock. The team's lined up, puck dropped and the second period was on it's way.  Just a couple of minutes in and our gals were all over them and scored, awesome!  Emma French would put that little black disk in were she needed to get us on the board.  As time winding down in this period the Irish didn't back down, they got a shot off that hit the crossbar but managed to stay out but that same girl got lucky the next time by scoring to even the game at 1.  Second period over and we all know that the third period was going to be intense.  With a game plan in place, our gals were ready to attack.  It didn't take long for Alexa Hahn to score with a shot off the back of the goalie to give us the lead.  Brooklyn Gethke would earn the assist for her work around the net. The game was getting near the end but our fiesty girls continued to play strong and aggressive hockey, with Lucan wanting to get the tieing goal they pulled the goalie for the extra attacker but it back fired on them, Taya Cornish would shoot the puck towards the empty net and it would go off on the stick of an Irish player to score, whew whoo that would seal the win.  Way to go girls!
Now, the girls are getting ready for a busy week of hockey as they have a back to back battle with The Bluewater Hawks on Wednesday and Thursday and a playdown game on Saturday against BCH.  Good luck girls.
