Playoff Report
The Synders Graphics PeeWee Girls have had a few more games in the last week.  We had 2 playdown games for Provincials and 1 league playoff game.

Our 2 games for Provincial playdowns we were on the losing end – losing our first game to BCH 5-3 and our last one on Sunday Feb 28th to South Huron on their turf 6-0.  Neither of these games were the team’s best effort, we just didn’t seem to have the go get it attitude needed.  We have 1 final game left in this series with it being at home this Thursday against BCH. Unfortunately, this year we will not be going to Provincials but there is always next year!

BCH Playdown game report:
We played in Seaforth on Saturday Feb 20th were we started the game with some determination as we would open the scoring in this game.  With an odd shot towards the goalie, Emma French would somehow get rewarded with the goal and Brooklyn Gethke earning the assist.  With just a few minutes left in this opening period, Brooklyn Gethke would add to our lead with Emma French getting the assist this time.  We were up 2-0 but BCH answered right back to cut our lead 2-1.   Second period started and the BCH girls had picked up their game as the pace was quicker and they started to move the puck around the ice better than us.  They would score to tie the game but without a fight, the gritty pair of Emily Haefling and Jaimie Badley would regain our lead of 1 to go into the final period.  During the third period we just ran out of steam and a few misplays allowed BCH to score 3 consecutive goals to take the win 5-3. Tough game girls but our rematch is coming up so let's show them a Meteors shower that night!

BAD League Playoff game report:
This past Friday night we played host to BAD in Hensall for a league playoff game.  We started this game just like our previous game with determination but this time it continued for the whole game.  We took control of this game and Emma French would once again open the scoring for the night from a pass of the stick of Erica Pletch – way to go girls, nice start to the game!  The period would come to an end with the good girls on top.  Second period was end to end action as both teams were trying to get that next goal, but Emma French would earn her second of the game unassisted.  Just minutes after our goal, BAD was able to get a rebound goal in past our goalie, Makayla Beuerman who was on her game making the saves needed to keep our high flying Meteors on top.  With this our lead was cut to 1 once again.  As we had a few more chances to score, the Blazer’s goalie kept them out of the net to end the second period with us having the lead 2-1.  Third period was our period as the girls continued to press hard and not give those Blazers much room to skate.  With the puck in our end, Ava Gibbings passed the puck out to our speedy Jaimie Badley who skated down the ice to stop just off to the side of the goalie and pass the puck to the stick of Emma French to score the hat trick of the game. Wow, what an amazing play and setup from Jaime, that’s the way to play girls!  With the face off at centre once again, the pair of Brooklyn Gethke and Erica Pletch made their way down to the BAD end to score to increase our lead 4-2.  As the clock counted down and a final rush to their end, the buzzer would sound and we won the game.  Congratulations girls, great team effort tonight as everyone had shots on their goalie!

South Huron Playdown game report:
Yesterday, we traveled to Stephen Township to play the Sabres for a chance to play at Provincials.  This was not our game as we just seemed a bit slow and sluggish on the ice.  During the game we weren’t able to get many shot attempts at their goalie and the score would reflect that as we lost 6-0.

The girls will now get ready to finish off their league playoffs – hopefully on a high note!  We will play a back to back match with Ilderton this weekend with the first game on Saturday on their turf and the rematch on Sunday in Monkton. Come on out and cheer on our peewee girls!
