A Couple More Close Games
The Synders Graphics PeeWee girls have had a couple of close games but did come out victorious in both games in the last week.

On Thursday Nov 26th our gals headed to Bylth to take on the BCH Ice Stars.  This game would be an interesting one as both teams are very evenly matched and the Ice Stars wanted to avenge their loss we gave them earlier in the season.  Half way through the first period Brooklyn Gethke would get on the scoreboard first with Emily Dearing earning the assist.  Good job girls, you got on the scoreboard first.  But within a couple of minutes we allowed BCH to answer right back to tie the game and also get the go ahead goal.  With them taking the lead it would end the first period.  With just a quick pep talk from our coaches and cheer from our girls, we would go out and start the second period.  The puck moved from end to end with both goalies making the saves need to keep this game in check but with the determination of our Meteors, they kept the little black disk in their end and Emma French would score to tie the game.  Yeah, let's go and get that go ahead goal! With time almost out in this period Brooklyn Gethke would score with just a second left off the quick shot of Alexa Hahn.  With that, the buzzer sounded and the period was over.  Fifteen minutes left in this game and BCH tossed a lot of rubber at our goalie but she stood her ground and didn't let anything pass.  Our mighty Meteors continued to press hard but we just couldn't seem to add to our lead.  The game would end with us winning 3-2.
With this game in the books and another win in our column we would have a bit of a break before our next game.

This past Thursday night we would have a game on our home pad against the Bluewater Hawks.  We started this game a bit slow but soon started the burners and picked up the pace.  With many attempts to score during this opening period, Emma French would tap the puck right in to get the good gals on the board first.  Ava Gibbings earned the assist from the goal.  This would be the loan goal during the first period of play.  Second period was much more even as shots on net were the same but Bluewater would tie the game at 1 with a screen of players in front of our goalie to prevent her from seeing the shot, oh well girls, you'll get it back!  The second period would come to an end with the game all squared at 1.  Third period could be anyone's as both teams were trying to get their plays set up but the aggressiveness of our girls gave them the advantages they need to take numerous shots on net and have Brooklyn Gethke find the back of the net with help from line mate Emma French.  Once again our high flying Meteors had taken the lead and would carry it to the end of the game for another win.  Final score was 2-1.

The girls now prepare for a busy week of hockey with a couple of away league games scheduled during the week in Lambeth and Ilderton and an exhibition game on Saturday against North Middlesex.
