Weekend Brings 2 Big Wins
The Lockhart Pee Wee local league Mitchell Meteors got back to their winning ways, with a 9-2 victory  Saturday afternoon when they traveled to Seaforth.  Mitchell opened the scoring only 18 seconds into the game on a goal from PJ Marshall assisted by Will Steinbach.

The Meteors proceeded to build up a 7 goal lead by the end of the second period.    Will Steinbach notched his first career hat trick, Braedon McLean had his first 2 goal game and Josh Bedour scored the other goal.  Seaforth scored their first goal early in the third.  Mitchell responded with about 5 minutes left in the game.  The teams would trade goals in the last minute for the 9-2 score.  Marshall scored both Mitchell goals in the third to notch his hat trick.  Basil Voros chipped in 3 assists, Marshall had 2 assists and Jaeden Faulkner, Steinbach, Bedour and Damen Roobroeck each recorded an assist in the game.

The Lockhart Pee Wee local league Mitchell Meteors won back to back games Sunday night with a win at home over the Kinkardine Flyers.  The game was a close fought back and forth affair.  PJ Marshall opened the scoring for the home side at the six minute mark with assists to Basil Voros and Will Steinbach.  The Meteors seemed to stun the Flyers with that goal and followed it up only 5 seconds later with a goal by Voros from Marshall.  Kinkardine made it a one goal game 15 seconds into the second.  Jaden Faulkner restored the 2 goal advantage with 5 ½ minutes left in the second, Kinkardine stormed back 2 minutes later to once again bring it within one.  Just over a minute into the third Marshall notched his second of the game to make it 4-2.  Keegan Hunt made it 5-2 with just over 5 minutes to go.  Kinkardine wasn’t done yet though, and scored with just over 2 minutes left, a minute later they scored again to climb back within one.  Despite pulling their goalie the Flyers couldn’t get the equalizer past Austin Weir in net.
