Meteors Fall to Sailors
The Lockhart Pee Wee local league Mitchell Meteors traveled to Goderich Sunday night to play the Goderich Sailors.
The Sailors opened the scoring late in the first period and took a 1-0 lead into the second. The second period produced a number of penalties with each team having 5 on 3 opportunities, but neither team could capitalize and the second period ended the way it started 1-0 for the Sailors. Goderich extended their lead with an early goal in the third. The Meteors responded with an unassisted goal from Carter Yost, in his first game back since suffering a broken wrist in the second game of the season. That was as close as the Meteors got as Goderich scored 4 straight goals to take a 6-1 lead. Mitchell did manage one more goal with just over a minute left as Josh Bedour scored from the point from a face off win from PJ Marshall. The final score was Goderich 6, Mitchell 2.
