Thompson's Atom AE's continue to enjoy a Good Season
The Thompson's Atom AE's continue to enjoy a good season, being only two points off of first place with two games in hand.
On Nov. 23 the boys played Goderich, beating them 9-1 thanks to solid goaltending by Charlie Wood. Two goals a piece by Xavier Lorentz, Drew Partridge and PJ Marshall, as well as Lucas Roobroeck, Spence Boyce and Andrew Van Bakel chipping in singles helped ensure a Mitchell Victory.
The boys lost a game to Lucan 6-3 on Nov. 29. Van Bakel, Evan MacArthur and Coulter Rolph scored the goals for Mitchell, with Jamie Feltz also playing an excellent game. Mitchell rebounded the next day with a big 3-1 win over the Kincardine Kinucks. Damon Roobroeck and Daniel Reidy played a solid game of defense with Rolph scoring two goals and Marshall scoring the third. For their exhibition game Dec. 2 against South Huron the boys lost 4-2. It was 2-2 late in the third thanks to goals by Marshall and Partidge. South Huron scored with just over two minutes left to make it 3-2 and then added an empty netter for the 4-2 final. Goalie Austin Weir played a good game despite the loss.
