Meteors Win Thriller in Arthur
The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice AE's travelled to Arthur Saturday afternoon for Game 2 of their opening playoff series and came away with an exciting 7-6 victory. Jordan Visneskie lead the way for the Meteors with a hat trick and two assists including a key goal with one second left in the first period.
Mitchell came out of the gates a little slow as the home Vipers jumped out to a 3-0 lead only 7 minutes into the contest. However Visneskie's goal at the first period buzzer changed the momentum. The Meteors would then score three straight second period goals to leave the game tied 4-4 after two periods. Jaxen Hartwig would score his first of two in the second along with Jack Small potting a goal over the fallen Viper goalie.
The visitors would jump out early in the third period with two goals in the first minute of play thanks to Visneskie and Dominic Marshall lighting the lamp. Hartwig would round out the scoring a few minutes later in an exciting match that had the outcome in doubt right until the end of the game.
Mitchell now takes their 4-0 point lead in the 6 point series to Monkton Sunday afternoon.
