Visneskie Scores 4 In Hard Fought Battle Against Minto
The Mitchell Meteors Novice AE Dodge Caravan Kids faced the a strong Minto Mad Dogs team in Sunday night action on home ice. The Meteors made their fans proud as they skated, shot and battled for the puck with a vigour and perseverance that showed they would not go down without a fight.
The Meteors would get on the scoreboard first with Jordan Visneskie firing a laser to the back of the net. This would be the first of four for Visneskie who would net all the goals for the home squad. Assisting on Visneskie's goals were Dominic Marshall and Lucas Roobroeck.
The Meteors kept the score close for the first two periods as the two teams battled for the lead. At the end of the second period Mitchell was leading by a score of 4-3, but would not able to hold on to the lead as the Mad Dogs found their fire power and would score seven unanswered goals. Despite what the scoreboard said, the Meteors can be proud of a hard-fought game that demonstrated great energy, teamwork and determination.
