Hockey Report
The Paul VanGerwen SunLife Atom Girls have played some good hockey during the busy Christmas Season with a few regular season games and also in the Milverton Holiday Challange.

Before Christmas the girls played a great game against Stratford to a 0-0 draw.  Both teams had scoring chances but solid goaltending from Makayla B. and the Stratford goalie didn't allow any that game.  This was a good game to lead them into the Milverton Holiday Challenge tournament on December 27-28 as Stratford would be the first time we would play in this tournament.
Our girls allowed Statford to score a goal in each the first and second periods giving them the lead after 2.  The girls started the third with the will to win and Hannah E. and Emma F. scored within a few minutes of each other to tie the game and Makayla B. stopping any shots that Stratford  got on net for the 2-2.  The teams next 2 games were against 2 strong teams Mount Forest and Grey Highlands.  Our girls played hard and had shots on net but came against solid goaltending from the other teams giving Mount Forest the win 4-0 and Grey Highland 6-0 win.  The duo of Makayla B and Ava G. provided Mitchell with solid goaltending in this tournament.
The team's next 2 games were regular season with Ava G. in net against the Bluewater Hawks and the Ingersoll Ice. Again Ava played hard and gave the team solid goaltending but we were not able to get any pass the other goalies.
The team has a few regular season games left in the season against St Clair, Stratford and East Lambton.
Keep playing hard girls!
