Great Game against Ingersoll
The Sun Life Financial -Paul Van Gerwen Atom Girls played a great nail bitter game of hockey on Saturday Dec 14.
The girls started slow with Ingersoll scoring 3 quick goals against us in the first 5 minutes of the game but our girls continued to play hard and Makayla B. scored the first goal with Jamie B. and Emily D. providing the help. Within a couple of minutes the good passing of Brooklyn G. and Maggie P. (17) give Erica P. the chance to score and cut Ingersoll's lead to 1 going into the second.
In the second period Arianna C. scored our loan goal to tie the game at 3 but Ingersoll answered right back to take the 1 goal advantage into the third.
The third period was a great period of hockey as both teams were playing hard for the win. Hannah E. with help from Makayla B give our team the tieing goal. The puck going back and fourth to both ends and lots of shots being taken Emma F. had a break away shot and put it in the back of the net giving us the 1 goal advantage. The girls continued to push hard and Makayla B. found the back of the net again in the game with Jamie B. and Taya C. providing the assistance. Ingersoll pushed back with a goal in the last 2 minutes of the game but the girls were able to hold the 1 goal lead to the end. Ava G. provided solid goaltending and made alot of nice saves to keep the girls in the game.
Congratulations girls on a great game, the crowd enjoyed every minute of it!
