Hockey Summary for the first part of the Season
The Atom Girls have played 6 regular league games and in the Women's Tournament since the beginning of October.
The team has played some tough teams in their regular season games but came away with 1 win, 4 losses and 1 tie. Their 4-0 win was against South Huron on Oct 29. Our goal scorers were Maggie P (#17), Taya C, Emily H and Emma F and assisting were Brooklyn G, Erica P, Emma F and Jamie B. Solid goal-tending by Ava G.
The team's tie game was an away game on Oct 23 against Zorra. The Zorra team ended up scoring a goal with a few minutes left to make it 3-3. Goal scorers for this game were Ava G, and Taya C adding 2 and Emily H helping with our 3rd goal. Solid goal-tending for this game by Makayla B.
The other games played were all close games.
Woodstock bet us with a score of 5-3. Emma F, Maggie P (#8) and Taya C provided the goals with Brooklyn G and Taya C adding their help.
BCH/Seaforth scored 2 goals on us this game to take the win 2-0.
The girls next game was against a strong North Middlesex team that scored 3 goals in the first period and 1 in the second to take the win 4-0 but our girls held on and had some good chances to score against their goalie.
The team traveled to Ilderton to play and Emma F scored our lone goal in a 3-1 loss. Solid goal-tending from both Ava G and Makayla B in these 4 games.
Our team was in the Women's Tournament held in Mitchell Oct 18-19. The team played 3 very strong teams from South Huron, Ingersol and Michigan but had fun during the tournament.
