Start of our Season
The Atom girls have started their season with a couple of exhibition games against BCH/Seaforth and Milverton and also a couple of league games against South Huron and Stratford.
In exhibition games the girls lost both of their games but improved each time they have played. The team's first game was against BCH/Seaforth with Arianna C. scoring our lone goal in a 5-1 defeat. Our next game was in Monkton vs Milverton. The scoring was back and forth for both teams and solid goaltending from Ava G. but Milverton just edged us 3-2. Goals scored by Brooklyn G. and Arianna C. with help from Maggie P. and Taya C.
In between our exhibition games the team started their regular league games with a home game against a strong South Huron team, losing 9-0. The girls came back and played a strong game against Stratford but just came up short by a goal 3-2. Solid goaltending from Makayla B and goals scored by Emma F. assisted by Erica P. and Taya C. and Erica P unassisted.
The girls next game is this Saturday Oct 12 at home against Woodstock. The girls are also getting ready to play in our annual Women's Tournament Oct 18-20.
