The novice girls travelled to Mooretown to face a tough double header game against St.Clair this past Sunday.
With a good attitude and lots of effort Mitchell still failed to find the scoreboard the first game. Though the girls tried hard, St.Clair dominated the play and the puck, walking away with a 13 to 0 victory over Mitchell.
A quick re-grouping and some snacks may have helped, as the damage was better controlled the second game. With a goalie switch, putting Jaylin in net where she comfortably and capably deflected many shots to protect the net. She may have found a new position there for future games. Continuing to work together Mitchell had more shots on net but the only one to get through the St.Clair defense was a beauty pass by Sadie M to Claire who found the hole to score.
In other weekend action Mitchell face Zorra on their home ice in Embro on Saturday. An aggressive effort by offense and some better blocking by defense resulted in a 2 to 1 win for Mitchell. Sadie M is credited for both unassisted goals.
