Busy weekend for the Novice Girls
The Mitchell Novice girls continue to play well as the season winds down.

Traveling to Embro on Saturday to face-off with Zorra proved to be a tough game. Although Mitchell had lots of shots on the Zorra goalie, they were not successful in netting any goals the whole game.
Both teams did a great job protecting their end as well as carrying the puck through for the offensive to lead in attack. Strong coaching direction from the bench as the game wore on, helped carry the team through to the end.
Embro slipped one by our goalie Jaylin in the second period, to make their mark on the scoreboard. Final score was 1 to 0 for Embro.

Sunday the team traveled early to Belmont to play B.A.D. The girls stepped up to the challenge and turned their game on. Alyssa scored unassisted in the first, after the hosts scored 30 seconds into the game. Defense stepped up to move the puck up the ice, resulting in a scoreless second period. Unfortunately B.A.D. scored their second goal of the game half way through the third period, leading on the scoreboard 2 to 1. Some excellent team work and effective passing allowed Alia to score a beauty of a goal with 47 seconds left in play to tie the game 2 to 2, assist to Cydney.

League playoff action continues.
