Mitchell novice girls hosted the Belmont Blazers Sunday evening in Monkton. The re-scheduled game, replaced by Saturday's practice pay-off.
The two novice teams have proven to be matched evenly this hockey season, always playing a competitive game. Mitchell played well, following the coaching instructions, taking short shifts and getting at the puck more aggressively. This proved to help Mitchell win the game by a score of 1 to 0. Sadie M scored in the second period, assisted by Brett.
Jaylin protected her net, deflecting the few shots that came her way. The defensive play of moving the puck all the way down to their net continued, with assistance from our wingers Cydney, Ellie, Brett and Claire all trying rebound it in the net.
With two more scheduled away games of the season, Mitchell hopes to continue on the winning side.
