Novie Girls play well in Woodstock Tournament
To start the new year off with a bang the novice girls travelled to Woodstock this past weekend to participate in their girls hockey tournament.

The Mitchell Novice Meteors girls played well, splitting the two day tournament with two wins and two losses.

They started off with an early game Friday morning, facing the London Blazers at 8:00am. Our stand-up goalie Charlee was strong in net, thanks to the fan encouragement and extra coaching from the stands to stay focused. She only allowed one goal in the whole game.
Mitchell shared the score tally of four with Alia, Claire, Sadie M and Jordyn contributing. The second game of the day saw Mitchell meeting up with their rivals the Lucan Irish again. Riding the winning high Mitchell stayed strong playing aggressively on the puck the whole game. Claire scored her second of the season, Cydney scored her first and Brett rounded it out to make the final score a win for Mitchell 3 to 1.
Saturday proved to be much tougher for the team as they dropped two games, not placing any markers on the scoreboard all day. Losing to London 0 to 3, then 0 to 7 to St.Clair.
This eliminated their chance to play in the championship game on Sunday. Unfazed the girls enjoyed their team dinner in Woodstock between games. Novice girls should be proud of their wins.
