Tie Number Two!
The novice girls have had their second tie of the season. The team took on the blowing snow and wind Saturday to travel to Lucan, to take them on.
The girls held their own during the first with lots of team work resulting in Alyssa finding the lucky irish spot to put us in the score board, unassisted. Not to be outdone Lucan fired back, sneaking on by Charlee in net.
Thought the team worked hard, Lucan out shot and out scored us in the second with three more goals. With a close score of 2 to 4 near the end of the period Sadie M fired a hard shot past the Lucan goalie to keep us in the game.
After regrouping and focusing by our coaches and encouraging parents the girls stepped it up. First Shawnie sunk a shot with assisted by cousin Cydney and Jordyn. This was quickly followed by our feisty forward Sadie M adding two more unassisted goals.
Mitchel novice girls showed us what they have and can do leading the game as the third period ended out. Unfortunately Lucan wouldn't stand for this and scored the final goal of the game making it a 5/5 tie with less than a minute left in play.
The novice girls know how to do it and coaches know they can, they just have to keep it going for next weekends game.
