Novice LL, U8 Boys, 2013-2014 (Mitchell Minor Hockey)

The Dodge Caravan Kids gave it their all in a hard fought battle in game 2 of the Novice LL Silver Championship. The Meteors started the game with high energy and a thirst to control the puck and they persevered throughout the game. Opening the scoring for Mitchell in the first period was Liam Brodhagen on assists from Brayden Glauser and Grayson Yost. South Bruce would answer with a goal of their own to leave the score tied at one at the end of the first period. In game one of the Novice LL Silver Championships against South Bruce, the Mitchell Meteors suffered their first loss of the playoffs. The Dodge Caravan Kids played a hard fought game, but could not come up with a goal and would lose with a score of 5-0.  Despite the score, Mitchell played a very defensive game and goalie Brennen VanderKuylen stood strong in net turning away multiple shots. The Novice LL Meteors will be looking for redemption as South Bruce travels to Mitchell this Monday night for Game 2 in the series.

The Mitchell Novice LL Meteors completed their round-robin playoff schedule with a hard fought 2-2 overtime tie against the BCH Ice Dogs Saturday afternoon in Mitchell. The tie left the local side undefeated in the playoffs with a 5-0-1 record. The Meteors now advance to either play South Bruce or Minto in the next stage of the playoffs.

The Mitchell Meteors Novice LL squad kept their playoff win streak alive with an overtime goal scored by Braydon Glauser. Mitchell dominated the play for the first two periods of the game keeping Goderich off the board until the third period. Sam Huettlin opened the scoring for the Meteors with an assist going to Owen McKenzie.  In the second period Grayson Yost poked the puck in the net after a lot of action in front the Goderich goalie, assisted by Noah Mann and Brayden Glauser. The Novice LL Dodge Caravan Kids remain undefeated in their playoff round robin series.  Mitchell traveled to Wingham on Saturday where they dominated the home team and came away with a 4-2 win. Brayden Glauser got the team off to a strong start by netting two goals in the first period with Noah Mann adding an assist on the second goal. Mitchell's third goal would come in the third period as Glauser would get his third point of the game by assisting Logan Nugent to put the puck past the Wingham goalie.
