John Henry Memorial Tournament Strathroy
The U18 E&F Masonry Mitchell Meteors took part in the John Henry Memorial Tournament in Strathroy on the Weekend of February 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2024.
Your Meteors would have another strong showing but would eventually fall in the semi-finals.

The John Henry Memorial Tournament would see 12 teams in total entered into three pools of four teams.  The Winner of each pool would move on followed by the 4th team getting in with the best record of the remaining nine teams.

Mitchell would be assigned to Pool B and draw the Lambeth Lancers for game 1 on Friday February 2nd, 2024.
In a tight competition between the two teams and a strong defensive effort from Hayden Beuermann, Brock Boville, Colby Ryan, and Zach Siemen-Hergott, and Aedan McCann standing tall in goal, neither team seamed to have an edge.  Mitchell would tie the game on a goal from Max Hannon (asst., by Carson Paulen), and pull into the lead on a goal from Griffin Bree (asst., by Liam Hunt), but would eventually draw a tie as Lambeth would score with seconds remaining in the Third.

With a tie in game one, Mitchell new they would have to win the remaining games to win the pool.  Early Saturday morning they would face the East Lambton Eagles.  The Eagles would strike early and first only minutes into the game.  That would wake the Meteors up and they would go on to reply with four goals, first coming from Max Hannon (asst., Brock Boville, Tyler Sherbarth), Second goal Hayden Beuermann (asst., Jonah Gibbings, Carson Paulen), Third goal from Jack Miller (asst., Charlie Wolfe) and fourth from Colby Ryan (asst., Rogan Catalan).

The remaining team left in the B pool would be the home team Strathroy Junior Rockets.  If Mitchell could beat them they would win out the B pool.  Aedan McCann would lead the team turning away many quality chances to secure his shutout.  Mitchell would go on to score 4 goals to take the victory, first goal coming from Hayden Beuermann (asst., Zach Siemen-Hergott), second goal from Griffin Bree (asst., Brock Boville), third goal from Brock Boville (asst., Griffin Bree) and fourth goal from Jack Miller (asst., Wade Campbell)

With the two wins and the tie, the Meteors would secure first place in Pool B and draw the St. Thomas Junior Stars.  the other semi finals would see Strathroy Jr. Rockets face Ingersoll Express.  Mitchell would fall to St. Thomas 4 to 1 with the only goal coming from Wade Campbell (asst., Zach Hygen).  St. Thomas would go on to win the tournament with a 2 to 1 win over Ingersoll Express.
