U-18 Girls Finish 1st in Regular Season
The GC Financial U-18 girls finished off their WOGHL regular season play with an impressive 14-1-2 record to place 1st in their division.

After the Christmas break the girls went 2-0-2 with some close and exciting games to end the regular season.
On Dec. 27 the Meteors faced the Huron Heat and came out with a close 1-0 victory.  Andrea Kelly scored the lone goal, assisted by Brook French and Jordyn Crawford.

Jan 6, Mitchell hosted the second place Tillsonburg Lightning in another close battle. Andrea Kelly opened the scoring at 8:23 of the first but the Lightning quickly responded to tie it up. Crawford then streaked down the side boards off of a nice break out pass from Josie Walker and put one in the top of the net to go ahead before the end of the first.
Tillsonburg had the lone goal in the second before Crawford scored her second goal of the game to start off the third on a tip off a point shot from Abby Gemmell to take a 3-2 lead.  Tillsonburg however would not quit and soon scored to tie it up and end the game at 3-3.

The last 2 games were against the Huron Heat and in game 1, Mitchell forced much of the play but could not score  as the teams skated to a 0-0 tie.
The second game on Jan 10 was a different story as the Meteors came out strong and would not be denied the victory.  After no goals for much of the game,  Brook French opened the scoring with 44 seconds left in the second followed by Kaylyn Klumper,  20 seconds later to take a 2-0 lead into the third.
French, Kelly and Jade Huygen then finished off the scoring as Mitchell won 5-0.  Assists in the game went to
Claire McCorkindale, Kelly(2), Brooklyn Boville,  Gemmell, Huygen and  Maddy Bernard.
The goaltending tandem of Shawni DeJong and Kora Smith were both solid in sharing the duties and earning the shutout.
