The weekend started with two games Friday. The Mitchell Meteors defeated Brockville Angels 2-0, with a successful start to their mission to win it all the team had to work a little harder in the second game. Facing Kincardine Kinucks the girls kept the fans on the edge of their seats, losing 2-0 into the third they managed to net 2 goals near the end to tie up the game.
Saturday the girls beat out West Oxford Inferno 3-1, then crushed Chatham Kent 1-0, scoring the last minute of play! This win qualified the team for a place in the top 4 in Ontario.
Meeting at the arena, rested and ready for more the girls smoked the Smith Falls Cubs 4-0 - onto the championships! Facing their rivals (who they beat out for WOGHL championship) Tillsonburg Lightening the Mitchell Meteors U-18 girls did not disappoint the fans.
