U 18s Punch Ticket to League finals
A team above all. Above all a Team!
The U-18 Paul Van Gerwen Girls hockey team has certainly proved that in the 2022-2023 season.
The U-18's won the WOGHL semi-finals Friday evening beating out the Ilderton Jets on home ice with a shut out for Shawni, final score 3-0. The meteors dominated the play most of the game with offensive pressure by all three lines. The coaching staff of Jordyn, Sam, Pam and Getty made sure the players knew where they were going as they lined up the plays and faceoffs to our advantage.
Charlee scored twice with game play set ups and assists to Grace, Claire, Nilah and Brooklyn F.
Defense held their own, with Grace and Maddy breaking in the zone to continue to challenge the Jets. As Ilderton tried to get on the scoreboard at the end of the third by pulling their goalie, they forgot the stick. This resulted in a penalty shot for Brooklyn B which she used to add to our lead.
The U-18's will face off against Tillsonburg Tornadoes on Saturday April 1st for WOGHL league championship.
