The Weekend Update with The Walkom's Valumart U11s
Two games this weekend for the U11s.
Friday night saw the U11s taking on the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders. The U11s had lots of off-ice energy as they were invited to dress in the Hawks changeroom - yes, that's right, the HAWKS changeroom. The music was loud and the smiles were big. Unfortunately Mitchell came up short and did not bring home a win.
The winds turned on Saturday when the U11s met up with the Hanover Falcons. Tyler Verberne put Mitchell on the board with the first goal of the game. Hanover added one in the second period to tie it up but shortly thereafter Hayden DeJong rebounded and Mitchell regained the lead. With two minutes left in the second, Hanover tied it up again. In the third period the duo of Aiden Crawford (assist) and Brady Brown (goal) made the score 3-2. The third period ping ponged back and forth with a goal from Logan Broughton (assisted by Parker Wolfe) and two more from Hanover. With a minute and a half left in the third period Lincoln Laverty scored, assisted by Jackson Schoonderwoerd and Logan Broughton. Mitchell 5, Hanover 4.
