Big Weekend for Walkom's Valumart U11s
The Walkom's Valumart U11s played games on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, the U11s traveled to Listowel where Taitum Vessie once again proved himself in net. Taitum blocked many shots to hold the first period at 0-0. Unfortunately, Listowel found the net early in the second period to take the lead. Mitchell rebounded with with two goals late in the second period by Lincoln Laverty and Logan Broughton (assisted by Parker Wolfe). Listowel continued to prove their strength and despite a goal by Laverty (assist Wolfe) with one minute left, Listowel came out on top 7-3. Strong defensive play was shown by Deni Beaudin, Trayton Keyser, Carson Vosper and Weston Bannon.
On Sunday evening the team traveled to Walkerton. They were up against some strong and skilled players and played one of their best games yet. Parker Wolfe scored a memorable goal by dinging it off the boards from his own defensive end. If it were recorded it may have made a good sports blooper reel! Walkerton won 4-1.
