U11s take on Walkerton, Saugeen and Drayton
It was a big hockey weekend for the Walkom's Valumart U11s with three games vs. Walkerton, Saugeen Shores and Drayton.
The U11s were on home ice Friday night where they met Walkerton for a 7-0 loss.
Saturday saw improvement in both score and skating vs. Saugeen Shores. Mitchell was ahead 2-1 in the second thanks to goals by Laverty and Wolfe (assisted by Burtenshaw). Saugeen ended up finding the net in the third and came out with a 3-2 win. A loss for Mitchell but a close and good game!
Last night Drayton welcomed Mitchell to their house. Broughton found the net early in the first period to give Mitchell the lead. Mitchell led in the second with additional goals by Laverty and Broughton. Drayton kept the pressure on and were up 4-3 at the end of the second. During the third period Beaudin, Keyser, Bannon, Crawford and Verberne were kept busy in our end. Drayton came out with the win, 5-3. Vessie played strong games all weekend.
