Peewee Reps Tie in Exhibition, Win First Game in OMHA Playdowns
The Hoegy's Farm Supply Meteor Peewee Reps skated to a 4-4 exhibition tie with visiting Tavistock Titans on January 10th, followed by taking the opening game of their first round OMHA Peewee 'B' playdowns with a 4-1 road victory over the Kincardine Kinucks.

In Mitchell on Friday night, the Meteors roared out to a 3-0 lead as Jacob Dietrich paced the attack with two goals and an assist.  Goalie Joel Meinen stood tall in the final period against a barrage of Tavistock shots to help preserve the tie.
Traveling to Kincardine in rainy conditions that turned icy for the return trip proved to be rewarding as the Meteors took the opening series win by a score of 4-1 in a chippy affair that featured a total of 36 minutes in minor penalties.  Goaltender Meinen started strong, making several key saves early to give his teammates momentum.  Ethan Jarmuth struck for the only goal of the opening period with five minutes remaining, assisted by Bryce Dixon.  The Meteors would make it 2-0 on Nick Wagner's unassisted powerplay goal midway through the second period, but Kincardine would answer back moments later stuffing in a loose puck in the crease to make it 2-1 after two periods of play.  Kellen Russwurm would add an insurance goal in the opening minute of the third period, blasting a shot from the blueline into the top corner.  Lucas Mahon from Dietrich would round out the scoring in the final couple of minutes of play.
The Kinucks travel to Mitchell for Game #2 on Tuesday Jan 14th, with the puck dropping at 7pm.
