Peewee Reps Win, Lose Twice in Weekly Action
The Hoegy's Farm Supply Meteor Peewee Reps had a busy week, sandwiching a 4-2 road win over Saugeen Shores between a 5-4 loss to BCH and a 9-3 walloping by Mount Brydges in exhibition play.

In Hensall on December 11th, the host Ice Dogs opened the scoring early in the first.  Trailing 1-0 after one period of play, the Meteors went to work in the second with three unanswered goals by Charlie Geiger, Braden Hoegy, and Ethan Jarmuth.  Assists went to Nick Wagner, Kellen Russwurm, and Hayden Nicholson.  BCH would roar back with three unanswered goals of their own in the third period to take a 5-3 lead.  Nick Wagner would score unassisted once more for the Meteors before the final buzzer.
The Meteors would hit the road for Port Elgin on December 14th to face the league-leading Saugeen Shores Storm who had only lost twice in regular season play.  The host team would get on the scoreboard first early in the opening period, but Mitchell would again answer back with three unanswered goals to take a commanding 3-1 lead after one.  Scoring goals were Jarmuth, Wagner, and Jacob Dietrich, with assists awarded to Bryce Dixon, Lucas Mahon, Geiger, and goalie Joel Meinen.  Saugeen would notch the only marker of the second period, and Jarmuth would add his second of the game as insurance in the third, assisted by Carter O'Brien and Jack Miller.
To see some tough competition prior to the Silver Stick tournament at the end of the month, an exhibition game was lined up with the Mount Brydges Cougars Peewee 'BB' Rep team.  Facing a strong skating and puck-moving squad, the locals quickly found themselves down 5-0 early in the second period before Hoegy broke free for a breakaway and put one top shelf unassisted.  Moments later, Miller drove the net hard and roofed one over the goalie's shoulder, set up by Bryce Otten and Hoegy.  Less than a minute later, Russwurm took a pass from Wagner and ripped one in from just over the blue line, suddenly making it a 5-3 game.  But the Cougars came right back with one more goal to take a three-goal lead.  Frustration quickly set in, as the Meteors would take five minor penalties and a game misconduct before the end of the second period.  Mount Brydges would put the game away with three more goals in the final frame to end at 9-3.
