Win, Lose AND Draw This Weekend
The Walkom's Valu-Mart Atom Reps had a three-game weekend resulting in a loss to Kincardine Friday night, a win over BCH Saturday night and a tie against Mount Forest on Sunday.

Friday night started off against the Meteor's rivals - Kincardine Kinucks. The boys came out strong and marked the first point on the scoreboard in the first period when Ethan Jarmuth fired one top shelf.  Kincardine came back and matched the point with only 40 seconds left in the first period.  Second period the boys were down 3-1 when Ryan Klumper took advantage of a rebound and put it in the back of the net for a 3-2 difference.  It was a back and forth game and the boys were playing well.  Defense was on fire, rushing the puck up the ice, forwards were doing a great job with lots of shots and setting up plays. At the start of the third period, Klumper won a face-off at centre and cruised down the ice for a beauty goal to start the come back and just seconds later Jarmuth received a pass from behind the net and let a one-timer rip to tie it up.  Kincardine powered back for another goal to take the lead again.  Jonah Gibbings skated coast to coast for the fifth and final goal of the night.  It was a back and forth battle but the boys couldn't pull ahead.  Final score 6-5 Kinucks.

Saturday night the Meteors were back at it against BCH.  The boys were looking to redeem themselves and get a "W" on the charts.  The game was scoreless after the first which did not reflect the game on the ice.  The Meteors were all over the Ice Dogs like white on rice.  BCH took a penalty in the second and Charlie Wolfe took full advantage with a back-hander into the top corner for the first goal of the game.  The boys won the period.  Bryce Dixon caught a loose puck right off the face-off in the third and weaved his way down the ice with a beautiful top-shelf shot.  Carter Miller stood strong in net and the boys managed to stone BCH out on a 5 on 3 power-play with some great penalty killing.  Miller received his second shut out of the season in a 2-0 win over BCH.

Sunday took the squad out of town to play the Mount Forest Rams who opened up the scoring mid-way through the first to take a 1-0 lead.  The boys fought back and were able to put their first goal on the scoreboard in the second period with a goal by Ryan Glauser, assisted by Logan Verberne.   The third period was an even match with end-to-end action from both teams.  Regardless of many attempts, some amazing passing, strong defense and fancy forwards, the Meteors were unable to pull ahead and went home with a 1-1 tie.
