Tie and Loss in weekend playoff action against North Middlesex Stars
The Dodge Caravan Novice C girls played the North Middlesex Stars on Saturday and Sunday.  Both games were action packed, as both teams are so evenly matched.

Game one started out great for the Meteors as Ellie MacArthur potted the first goal with thirty seconds remaining in the period.  Kayla Visneskie earned the assist. The second period fared well for the local girls as they were able to score two more goals to be up 3-0 . One from MacArthur, and the other from a speeding Selina Gethke who broke through the traffic in their own zone and skated the length of the ice and beat the opposing netminder. The Stars answered back with a goal to close out the second period.  The Meteors looked in great shape to win the game when Gethke grabbed her second goal of the game, just a couple minutes into the third to be up 4-1.  The Stars did not give up and answered back with three goals in the final seven minutes of the game including the tying goal with their goalie pulled and an extra skater. Game one ended in a 4-4 tie.

Game two on Sunday proved to be a back and forth affair, as both teams were looking to take the lead over the other in the weekend battle.  Visneskie would open the scoring early in the first assisted by defender Kinslee Horan. The Stars answered back in the second with a shot on screened Meteor Danika Voros, who didn’t see much of the shot from the traffic out front. Mitchell answered back as Visneskie shot the puck in off a Gethke rebound.  The Stars were hungry for a win and replied to Mitchell with two goals in a row, one of which being a lifted goal over Voros who didn’t have much of a chance on it.  MacArthur answered back again as she fought off the Stars defence and broke through to even the score at three.  Yet again the Stars gained the advantage by slipping another past Mitchell.  With a couple minutes remaining, Voros would be pulled and the extra attacker Pheobe Wood was added to the ice.  Mitchell had many chances with the extra skater, but ran out of time ending the game with a 4-3 loss.  The two teams are now tied for first place in their division.
