Lambton took the lead early in Saturdays game, but The Meteors answered back with a couple goals to regain the lead in the first period. Kayla Visneskie would grab the first marker with a quick shot from the faceoff, and Ellie MacArthur poked in a loose puck for the second goal. Lambton evened the score in the second period, but not for long as the Meteors would take the lead again on a firm slapshot from the hashmarks by MacArthur. The Meteors didn’t look back, adding two more goals in the third period. Another from Visneskie, who also assisted on Martyna Hartwigs goalmouth marker. Danika Voros did her best to limit Lambton to only two goals in the Meteors 5-2 victory.
On Sunday The Meteors had a closer drive to Ilderton to face the Jets. The game was a back and forth affair and by the end of the first period, Mitchell was ahead of the Jets 2-1. Kayla Visneskie put the first one in on a hard shot from the top of the circle, assisted by Charlee Weesjes. Ellie MacArthur scored the second, assisted by Selina Gethke. Ilderton answered back with the only goal of the second period bringing the game back to a tie. The Jets took the lead in the third period, but not for long as Visneskie would net another for the Meteors, assisted by Phoebe Wood and Martyna Hartwig. Ilderton answered back again to take the lead and in the final minute, coach Hannon pulled Danika Voros from the net to add the extra skater for a chance to tie it back up. Things looked promising as MacArthur charged down the ice on a breakaway only to be cut short by the buzzer ending the game at the 33 second mark due to curfew. A disappointing 4-3 loss for the Novice Girls, but a well played game to be proud of.
