A Pair of Home Games
The Mitchell Dodge Caravan Kids Novice LL1 team had a busy weekend defending home ice in Monkton against 2 different BCH squads, one of them being undefeated.

On Saturday afternoon the Meteors played against a formidable opponent in an undefeated BCH Ice Dogs 1 team. Both teams came out strong trying to set the pace early, while Mitchell's defense kept most of the pressure off of their own goalie, it was BCH's goalie that turned away shot after shot by the Meteor forwards. At the end of the first period BCH was ahead 1 - 0. In the second period the Meteor's finally had success with Ray Wolfe burying one past the Ice Dog goal to tie the game at 1 - 1. While Mitchell fought hard the rest of the game BCH eventually came out on top scoring the winner in the third period. A hard fought game and nothing to be disappointed with.

On Sunday afternoon Mitchell came out with the same focus and determination but had a little more polish to their game and managed to put away the BCH Ice Dog 2 team with a final score of 4 - 1. Another strong performance from an Ice Dog goalie had the Meteors' firing pucks at all angles of the net, with success finally coming at the stick of Bryson Eickmeyer with the assist coming from Brayden Baxter. In the second, AP player Nolan Rolph took a nice pass from Ray Wolfe in front of the net to make it 2 - 0 for Mitchell. The Meteors' strong defense play continued on both ends of the ice when Tyler Burtenshaw broke out of his own blue line taking a quick pass from Baxter and Connor Wolfe. He finished the play getting the third goal of the game with a lightening quick forehand/backhand combination beating the goalie five-hole. With 1:25 remaining in the 3rd Hudson Porter picked up a loose puck in front of the net burying it to make the final score 4 - 1.

A great weekend of competitive play for the boys, keep up the hard work and good luck on Thursday against the LL2s.
