Playoff Update
Its been a busy playoff schedule the past 2 weeks for the Mitchell Dodge Caravan Kids Novice LL1 team. The team is currently locked in a 4-way tie with a record of 3 wins and 3 loses.

The Meteors playoff schedule started February 15th with the top 4 teams from West division (both Mitchell teams, BCH and Zurich) playing each other in a round robin format 3 times over.  The top team crosses over for a series against the top team from the East division.

The boys got off to a slow start with back to back losses against the BCH Ice Dogs(Feb 15, score 3-4) and the Zurich Thunder(Feb 18, score 2-3). The boys quickly rebounded against BCH (Feb 22) in their second game of the series with an authoritative 4-1 win. Feb 24 was the first game of LL1 vs LL2, the game was very entertaining with lots of opportunities both ways, but in the end the LL2s came away with a slim 1-0 victory. Mitchell played their final game against BCH on March 3 and came away with a 4-3 victory thanks to a game winning save by Carter Harris with 35 seconds remaining and then Mitchell took it down the ice and Ray Wolfe made no mistake putting it past the BCH goalie with 13 seconds left in the 3rd! Rounding out our update, the boys again faced their rival LL2 opponents in Monkton on Sunday (March 4). The LL2 squad got out to a quick start applying lots of offensive pressure and 2 mins into the 1st period made it 1-0. The LL1's quickly tightened up not wanting this game to get away from them. The defensive effort showed as our blue-line team stepped it up breaking up play after play, not allowing the LL2's to ever get set up. With 3 mins remaining in the first period Nolan Rolph tied it up with an unassisted goal. There would be no scoring in the 2nd period setting up an epic 3rd period for the LL1's. Only 3 mins into the 3rd period Dylan Dietrich took a pass from Hudson Porter and broke the tie beating the goalie five-hole, this got the LL1 players fired up for more! They used the momentum and kept the pressure in the offensive end scoring 4 more goals to make the final score 6-1. Other goals came from Jack Crowley, Ray Wolfe(2), and Hudson Porter; assists from Ray Wolfe, Hudson Porter, Crowley and Dietrich(2). A great confidence boost for the boys !

The Meteor's again face the LL2 squad for their final game on March 9th and then finish their playoff round robin on March 10 against Zurich. Good Luck!
