Make It 10 In A Row!!
The Mitchell Dodge Caravan Kids Novice LL1 Meteors took on the number 2 ranked Zurich Thunder Saturday afternoon and came away with another solid performance.

Coming into the game tied for 3rd place overall in the West Division, the Meteors were ready for the challenge in facing the Thunder who only had one loss coming into this afternoons game.

Both teams came out strong and fast, but Mitchell set the tone early on offence testing Zurich's goalie and keeping the puck in their zone. Zurich would eventually break open the game on a turnover in the neutral zone mid-way through the 1st period. But, two minutes later Lucas Bree cleared the Meteors' own zone passing to Bryson Eickmeyer who in-turn found a streaking Jack Crowley all alone in front of the net to tie the game. The back and forth continued in the second period with the only goal being scored by Zurich, taking a slim 2 to 1 lead into the 3rd period.

In the 3rd period the Meteors' starting firing on all cylinders starting with the defensive efforts in allowing only 3 shots for the entire period. The Meteors' offense followed suite when Reegan Vessie passed the puck to Lucas Bree who went it alone making pylons of all the Zurich players he faced and beating the goalie glove side to make it a 2 to 2 tie. Mitchell would score 3 more unanswered goals in the period; 1 coming from Ray Wolfe and 2 more from Nolan Rolph. Assists in the 3rd came from Hudson Porter, Crowley, Quiade Hoskin and Luke Krempien. The coaching staff was thrilled with the 5 to 2 win over a strong Zurich club. A great team victory!

Good luck in Ripley on Friday night (Feb 2) and the Hanover tournament on Saturday (Feb 3)!
