The Dodge Caravan Kids Novice LL 1 team got off to a flying start on the
Sunday with a win over the visiting Blyth-Brussels Crusaders at the Monkton arena. After
weeks of practice and hard work the Meteor’s already looked to be in mid-season
form for their first tilt of the year.
Hudson Porter didn’t waste any time getting the Meteor’s season started, just 30 seconds into the first period he took a great pass from line mate Ray Wolfe and buried it past the goalie. Less than a minute later Ray Wolfe put another one past the goalie with helpers from Bryson Eickmeyer and Braden Baxter. While holding down the blue line and providing leadership to his team mates, Lucas Bree picked off at Crusader in the neutral zone to skate in alone and made great move to beat the diving goalie's weak side. With 2 mins remaining in the first period goaltender Carter Harris made 2 big saves helping his defense on a giveaway and on a Crusader breakaway, those new goalie skates will do just fine! The second and third periods followed much the same as the first with more goals coming from; Porter, Ray Wolfe, Dylan Dietrich and Connor Wolfe. Proving the team is just that, there were 9 assists to go along with the 8 goals from; Connor Wolfe, Dylan Dietrich, Reegan Vessie, Tyler Burtenshaw, Luke Krempien, Quiade Hoskin and Ray Wolfe. A great home ice win for the Meteor’s, keep working hard and good luck November 11th vs Lucknow!
