First Game
The Paul Van Gerwan Sunlife Atom B girls represented Mitchell on the OWHA Provincial Championships in the Toronto area this past weekend.
Our first opponents to start the quest were a new team to us the Sault St. Marie Wildcats
Josie Walker started off our scoring in the first period with an assist from Alexis Gettler...a shot to the top left hand corner that just found its way in the net.
A scoreless second period left us on edge of our seats for 12 mins.
Josephine Jarmuth had a break away in the third and had no problem finding the back of the net. With a scramble in front of the net Josephine scored again with a pass from Josie Walker.
Sault St. Marie called a time out with 42 secs left in the third...that was enough time to give our girls a rest to keep the pressure on. Josephine got the puck and shot for the empty net 23 sec left to make it 4-1.
