The MCR Atom LL hosted Wingham on November 26th
at the Monkton Arena. Mitchell came out
strong looking to notch another win to their season.
Halfway through the first period, Wingham saw Mitchell digging hard to get that
first goal. Callum saw a great
opportunity to get the puck to Kara who hit the sweet spot!
Just over 1 minute later Zach, Tyler, and Rogan saw another opportunity to hit
the back of the net with some cluster shots. Tyler finally sunk the 4th rebound
shot.
Mitchell sure didn’t slow down in the second with Charlie finding that open spot for a breakaway and great goal 2 minutes in. A few minutes later, Kara paid back the favour to Callum setting him up for our 4th goal of the night. Aedan McCann was strong between the pipes but with 1 minute left in the 2nd, Wingham was able to squeeze a shot past.
After Wingham netting a goal at the end of the second, Tyler was eager to make sure we stayed ahead of the game. 20 seconds into the 3rd, Zach set up Tyler to put Mitchell at a 4-goal advantage.
1 minute later Jack saw an opening at the blue line sending a slap shot on net with Rogan taking advantage of being in the open & chipping that puck right in.
With a final score of 6-1 for Mitchell, a special shout out goes to our defensive lines! Amazing defensive efforts keeping that puck out of our zone!
