Atom LL team faced off against the Goderich Sailors on December 9th
in Monkton.
The first period sure was fast-paced with both teams fighting for that first
goal. With an action packed first period
neither team could line up that goal leaving the score 0-0.
Heading into the second both teams continued to fight until Griffin Bree saw an opening with a breakaway, Rogan Catalan skated right up the ice to help with that final chip in to get the first goal of the game.
The third period left the Mitchell Fans cheering wildly, as the boys went on a scoring spree!
Goderich started the 3rd period off 2 minutes in with their first goal of the game.
At 12:15, Bentley Phillips netted the first of 8 third period goals on a centre ice Breakaway. 13 seconds later, Griffin Bree charged straight off the face-off for his goal in the top corner.
Goderich would slip one final goal in at the 11 minute mark, while Mitchell dominated the remainder of the 3rd period.
It was Zackary Siemon-Hergott’s turn next on a breakaway at 10:53. Zackary & Jackson Kaufman teamed up for the 4th goal – Jackson shot from the point with Zackary chipping it in at 7:26. Zackary returned the favor at 5:31 by setting up Rogan for his second of the game. At 5:20, Zackary scored his first hat trick of the season with a sweet corner shot. Jackson had his turn next taking the puck right in on net at 4:55. Tyler Scherbarth set up Zackary at 1:30 for the 8th goal of the period and Zackary’s 4th goal of the game!
