A Great Weekend
The Atom C Girls had a great weekend at Provincials meeting the coaches goal of reaching a playoff series.
The girls went undefeated in round robin play with a win and 2 ties. Saturday afternoon they then met their match in Lucan losing 2-1 in the quarter final game. The players knew this was going to be a tough battle as they have traded wins back and forth with Lucan during their previous match ups. Lucan scored 2 quick goals in the first period and then Mitchell rallied back with a goal by Josephine Jarmuth. Mitchell poured on the pressure throughout the remainder of the game with their goalie making several great saves to keep Mitchell off the board. This was an intense game to watch for all spectators with Mitchell pouring on the pressure right to the last second...(goalie pulled with 6 attackers in the last minute of play!)
The girls put together 4 solid, well played games with the players each putting forth their best effort throughout this tournament. Congratulations to the team on a great season!
