The Mitchell Atom Girls C team had a successful weekend
participating in our local Mitchell Hockey Tournament.
They won the Gold Medal on Sunday with a 3-2 win over Mount Forest. Mitchell got on the board early scoring all 3 goals in the first period. Goals were scored by Alexis I (unassisted), Josephine (assisted by Alexis I and Jordyn) and Cydney (assisted by Claire). Mount Forest got on the board by scoring 2 goals in the 2nd period to set up an exciting 3rd. Defencemen Margaret, Alexis G, Stephanie, Jordyn, and Kora along with our goalie Shawni played well to stop the Mount Forest attacks in the 3rd period with our forwards continuing to apply pressure. This topped off a great weekend as the girls went undefeated in the tournament with a tie (2-2) and a win (10-2) in round robin play. Great job girls!
The girls weekend tournament schedule allowed the team to get together for a fun afternoon of bowling on Saturday.
