Novice Girls Split Pair of Weekend Playoff Games
The Perth County Chrysler Dodge Caravan Kids continued their playoff run over the Family Day weekend.  First up was a WOGHL round robin playoff game in which the Meteors defeated the Ilderton Jets 1-0.  The second game which was played on Sunday had the visiting Huron Heat come to Monkton for a OWHA Provincial Playdown game.  In a well contested game, the Heat out fired the Meteors coming a way with a 2-0 victory.

Against the Ilderton Jets on Saturday Grace Kipfer was again her stingy self, as she was able to shut out the visitors.  Rylee Kipfer, Alissa Insley, Jessie Horan and Heather Ogilvie helped their goalkeeper out, playing rock solid in front of her.  In the second period Ashley McLeod would score the games only goal at the 4:28 mark.  Ava Harmer picked up the helper.  The girls would clamp down for the rest of the game and escape with the 1-0 victory, running their record to 2-0 in the WOGHL round robin.
Sunday would bring the very strong Huron Heat squad to Monkton.  The Meteors fought hard and battled the whole game, but in the end would fall 2-0 to the visitors.  The girls would not give up and and showed their hard work ethic that the coaching staff has been so very proud of all season.
The girls will enjoy a few off days before getting back to work with a practice this Thursday, and then have a busy three game weekend coming up.  In the meantime if you need your hockey fix you can check the Monkton Bandits schedule.  Go check out some of the Novice girls coaching staff in action and you can see where the girls "sweet" hockey skills originate!!
