Novice C Girls Enter Christmas Break with a Big Win
Twas the night before Christmas Eve (Dec 23), and the Perth County Chrysler Dodge Novice C girls traveled to Ilderton to take on the undefeated Jets.  With the girls hockey socks all worn with care, they were able to put an end to Ilderton's undefeated regular season, winning the tight affair.  The Jets were left with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, as the Meteors left town and headed home to their beds.  Final score Mitchell 1 Ilderton 0.

The Meteor girls headed to Ilderton knowing that they would need one of their best efforts against the strong Jets team.  The girls did not disappoint.  With the "iron curtain" defence on display, the team was able to tighten things up in front of tender Grace Kipfer, who was again her perfect self.  She stopped all shots directed her way, and again she gave credit to the team in front of her, notably the girls on the blue line Jesse Horan, Alissa Insley, Rylee Kipfer and Heather Ogilvie.  The Meteors lone goal would come off the stick of Camryn Medhurst, as she outwaited the Ilderton goalie and was able to fire one up and over the sprawled out keeper.  The lone assist on the goal went to Kara Rolph.  The goal would come at the 2:57 mark of the first period, and the team defence and G. Kipfer would take it from there.
The fans were entertained after the game as each girl participated in a fun shoot out with the home side.  Fans commented on some of the breakaway moves that the girls displayed.
The girls will now enjoy some holiday time, and will travel to Stratford in the New Year to take on a strong Aces squad, and then will participate in the Pink on the Rink girls tournament in South Huron on Jan 6-8.  Good Luck girls, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
