Weekend Round-Up Went Right Down to the Wire
The McLaughlin's Wholesaling Novice Reps played two games this past weekend.

The McLaughlin's Wholesaling Novice Reps successfully netted 3 goals on December 17th as they hosted the Drayton Defenders in an afternoon match-up on home ice in Monkton.   Scoring came from Ethan Jarmuth with 2, including a glove-side rocket coming in from the point while 1 goal came from Cohen Ahrens on a rebound from off the post, with the assist going to Max Hannon.  The defence lines gave all they had to protect their end, but it would be a tough loss for the Meteors as they fell 9-3 against the Defenders.

Looking to turn things around, the team traveled to Listowel to face-off against the Listowel Jr. Cyclones on Sunday December 18th, in a high-intensity game.  The Cyclones lit up the scoreboard first with one during the first period. This fired the Meteors up as they continued to dig hard to try and earn that one back, by making exceptional passes between team mates, as they moved the puck up the ice.  Mitchell pounded the Cyclones net throughout the second period and into the third with multiple close-scoring opportunities which were all denied by exceptional goal tending on the Cyclones end.  Five minutes into the third period, the Cyclones netted their second goal, leaving the Meteors hungry to break the shut-out. Doing just that, Ryan Klumper carried the puck in behind the Cyclones net, and passed to Mathew Menheere who was waiting out in front to bring the Meteors back within one, with seven minutes remaining in the game. The final few minutes of the game saw Mitchell fighting with everything they had, and with just only seconds to spare, the Meteors fired one last puck at the final buzzer, but were unable to get the puck across the line.  The Meteors fell 2-1 in what could arguably be their most exciting-down-to-the-final-buzzer match-up of the season!!!
