What a great tournament for the Bantam C Meteors!
The Girls lose a heart breaker in the tournament semi-final.
Friday night against Lucknow the girls dominated the play but the first period was scoreless. Ryley
scored a goal in the second to give the Meteors the lead. Ryley added an assist with a pretty pass from
behind the net to Emily who put away the second goal. In the third period the girls protected their lead
with two players in the box to end the game with a 2:1 win. Only complaint from the stands was the
opposing fans got the heated seats!
Saturday morning BCH scored a power play goal in the first but the Meteors did not let it get them
down. Ryley evened the score in the second; then Emily scored in the third period to put the Meteors in
the lead. Ryley added one more for a 3:1 final.
Saturday afternoon the girls were back on the ice against Milverton. The fans were on the edge of their
seats through two scoreless periods of play. A third period goal from the blue line by Lauren put the
Meteors in the lead. Jessie added a second goal and Jessica put in an empty netter to seal the win.
Sunday morning the Meteors faced Sarnia. The play was evenly matched and the first period ended
scoreless. Sarnia scored early in the second; then Lyric answered with a goal to even the score. Elysha
scored to put our girls in the lead later in the same period. However Sarnia scored to even the game at
two apiece. In the third period Sarnia took the lead then added an empty netter for a final score 4:2 for
the opposition.
Congratulations to the girls for an entertaining tournament; you gave the fans lots to cheer about!
