Mitchell Scotiabank Bantam AE's Win Last 6 Games
Mitchell Scotiabank Bantam AE's swept the quarter-final series against the Walkerton Capitals becoming the WOAA Champions in January. They will now advance to the OMHA semi-finals facing the Douro Duke's in Douro February 20th.
Meanwhile, the Bantam AE's have been cleaning up the ice winning the last 3 league playoff games against Lucknow(4-3), Walkerton(6-4) and Ripley(2-1). The boys will face Walkerton again on February 13th at 8:00pm on home ice so come on out and cheer us on!
On February 6th Mitchell Scotiabank Bantam AE's met with the Lucknow Sepoys at the Monkton arena winning the game 4-3.
Lucknow controlled the game for most of the first period sending in 3 goals past the Mitchell posts. Kyle Richardson sent one in midway through the period with Brenden Boville and David Rowland assisting . First period ends with Lucknow holding a 3-1 lead.
The boys came alive in the second period as our defense kicked into action and our forwards chased down the puck ending the period with a 3-3 tie. Curt Eidt and Tristan Beehler scoring with Ben Small, Clayton McCarthy, Karson Eisler and Rowland taking the assists.
The teams played fairly evenly in the third period but Lucknow gave the penalty box lots of action. After a cross-
checking penalty that left Lucknow short-handed on the ice, Jake Monden, assisted by Eidt, sends in the winning goal.
Ryan Bell in net picks up a 4-3 win.
Mitchell Scotiabank Bantam AE's traveled to Walkerton on February 7th winning 6-4.
As it seems, whenever we meet Walkerton, they were again first on the board with a goal late in the first period.
Mitchell definitely had control of the game second period as Jared McCarthy, Kurtis Forrest, Jake Monden, Karsen Eisler, Curt Eidt and Tristan Beehler each find the Walkerton net. Kyle Richardson and Brenden Boville each with one assist.
James Vink played solid in net taking the 6-4 win.
Mitchell Scotiabank Bantam AE's took to the road again facing the Ripley Wolves on February 8th coming home with a 2-1 win.
Mitchell was first on the board as Jake Monden assisted by Kyle Richardson and Curt Eidt opened the game up sending one past the Ripley posts midway through the first period.
Second period Ripley tied things up but Monden assisted by Eidt and Devin Fenwick again sends one home ending the period with Mitchell ahead 2-1.
Third period Mitchell held the lead with strong defense and offensive plays.
Ryan Bell was solid between the pipes taking a 2-1 win.
