Mitchell Scotiabank Bantam AE's tied in OMHA finals Run
The Bantam AE's Meteors traveled to Ilderton on Saturday March 19th to play game 4 in the OMHA finals winning 5-2.

Mitchell Bantam AE's did us proud on Saturday night playing a great game of hockey.  Our forwards were quick to the puck, winning face-offs and making clean plays as they took control of the puck away from the Jets.  Mitchell defense were a solid wall and were watching for the famous Jets cherry picker that is always sitting at centre ice. James Vink was on his game blocking a number of hard shots to the net. It was great to see such solid teamwork.

First period Ilderton would be the first on the board as they found a the hole low in the Mitchell net.  Curt Eidt would tie things up as he sent in a shot from the wing just over the goalie's shoulder.  Mitchell moved ahead after a goal by Jared McCarthy assisted by Damon Kay. Ilderton would come back to tie things up ending the period 2-2.

The next two periods it seemed Ilderton was becoming more and more flustered and as a result more aggressive. The Jets would find themselves playing shorthanded for 24 minutes as their boys sat in the box. One Mitchell player was unable to return to the ice after a hard hit by the Jets players. Mitchell kept their cool and as a result Jake Monden (assisted by Jared McCarthy), Eidt (assisted by Monden) and Tristan Beehler sent in Mitchell's last three goals.  Mitchell wins 5-2 tying up the series 2 games a piece.

It goes to show you boys what you can do when you are there to play hockey.  Great job players and coaching staff.

Mitchell fans come on out on Tuesday March 22nd at 8:00pm as the Bantam AE's play for the series win on home ice.
