And That's a Wrap!
The Meteors played their final game of the regular season tonight in a home game against the Saugeen Shores Storm. The boys played a tough game and came out with an 8-0 win.  This marks the end of an amazing regular season where the boys won 15 games scoring 76 goals while only allowing 11.

Mitchell started the scoring mid way through the opening period when Solomon Koert found the back of the net after receiving a nice pass from Josh Eidt.  The boys were at it again before the period ended but this time it was Koert feeding Eidt a perfect pass and the Meteors were up 2-0 heading to the second period.
Although goaltender Greg Reidy wasn't called on to make a lot of amazing saves, he did what he had to do to keep his shut-out and control the play.  Great job Digger!
The boys kept pressing through the second period and kept a lot of pressure on the Storm.  After a nice back-hander from Joey Adam, that hit the goalie in the face, Koert picked up the rebound to notched Mitchell's third goal of the game.  Coulter Rolph was also rewarded with an assist.  Just a few minutes later, Drew Scherbarth rifled a beautiful shot just inside the goal post to increase the boys lead 4-0.  Kurtis DeJong earned the assist.  Less than three minutes later, Eidt scored his second of the night on another incredible shot after a great pass from DeJong.  Mitchell kept up the scoring when Scherbarth snapped his second goal of the game while Brett Poirier and Evan MacArthur ('03) notched the assists.  The boys were heading into the third period with a comfortable 6 goal lead.
The third period was a bit more end to end with some great back checking from our forwards and great break-out passing plays from our defence.  Eidt made another great pass to a wide open Rolph in front of the net who drilled the puck top shelf and added another goal for the home team.  The final goal came when Adam picked up the puck from a scramble in front of the Storm net minder and flipped it over the goalie finalizing an impressive 8-0 win and ending the 2015 regular season at 15 wins and only 1 loss.
The Meteors will be spending the next week preparing for the international Silver Stick being played in Niagara Falls (Pelham).  The boys are excited to play teams from both Indiana and Virginia in the opening round robin games. I know the boys will represent Mitchell with the heart and determination they have demonstrated so far this season!  Go Meteors Go!!!!!
