Peewee AE Boys Have a Rough Start to OMHA Finals
The Meteors hosted game 1 of the OMHA Provincial finals tonight against the Durham Crusade. Although the boys had many great chances, they found themselves on the losing end of a 4-1 game.
Mitchell fans came out to cheer on their home team and were treated to a fairly evenly matched game. Some bad bounces resulted in a few goals for the Crusade but the Meteors just couldn't capitalize on their own numerous chances. The only goal came in the third period when Joey Adam fed a beautiful pass to Drew Scherbarth who found the back of the net. The boys turned on the heat for the last 6 minutes of the game and made it very exciting but a Durham empty netter took the score to 4-1 and pushed a win out of reach for Mitchell. Greg Reidy made many great saves in net for the Meteors. The boys travel to play the second and third game in Durham next weekend. Go Meteors Go!!
