Peewee AE's Glide in to the Provincial Finals!
The boys played three great games against the Ilderton Jets and came out with a series sweep. This advances them to the OMHA Provincial Finals to be played against the Durham Crusaders.
The boys played game #2 at home and skated away with a 4-2 win. 2 Goals by Kyle Eilser while Solomon Koert and Coulter Rolph added singles. Assists were added by Evan MacArthur ('03) with 2 and Wade Monden and MacArthur ('04) adding singles.
Game three was in Ilderton Thursday night. The boys hit the ice and the Josh Eidt, Koert and Monden line dominated the game netting four of the six goals for Mitchell. Eidt notched his first two goals just 3 minutes apart in the first, to give the Meteors a 2-0 lead. Assists were by Monden, Koert and Kurtis DeJong. With just over a minute left in the opening period, Eilser netted the teams third goal with assists by Rolph and MacArthur '04. In the dying seconds of the period, Eidt earned his hat trick on a beautiful passing play from line mates Monden and Koert. Mitchell was heading into the second period with a convincing 4-0 lead. Early in the period, Eidt fought his way to goal #4 with the help of Monden and Koert. Greg Reidy was solid in net for Mitchell the entire game. The final goal came in the last few minutes of the third period when MacArthur '04 notched an unassisted goal to end the game with Mitchell winning 6-0. It was a well played series for Mitchell who are now heading to the Provincial Finals to face the Durham Crusaders.
