Meteors Win 13 in a Row
After a short Christmas break, the boys were back in action playing a home game against the Listowel Cyclones.  The Meteors played a hard, smart game and skated away with a another huge win.

Mitchell hit the ice and played a good first period but couldn't get one past the Cyclone's net minder and ended the opening period scoreless.
The boys pushed harder for the second period and were rewarded with their first goal just a minute and half in when Kyle Eisler casually slid the puck by a sprawled goalie. Matthew Crawford earned the assist.  A few minutes later, Joey Adam picked up the puck in the Listowel end, taking a quick shot that was stopped but Drew Scherbarth was there to pick up the rebound and notch Mitchell's second goal of the period.  Kurtis DeJong also earned an assist on the play.  Less than a minute later, Eisler was back at it and charted his second of the game after a nice passing play from Evan MacArthur ('04) and Cam Hahn. The boys left the ice in the lead 3-0.
The third period started a little sloppy but the Meteors quickly got back into the game and continued to play a smart match.  After an incredible pass from Eisler, Coulter Rolph let a rifle shot go, top corner, to increase the lead 4-0.  The boys were backed by some incredible saves from net minder Greg Reidy who stunned the fans with a few impossible stops that demonstrated his amazing reflexes and talent.  With a flawless Reidy behind them, the Meteors were able to continue their offensive attack.  Goal #5 came later in the final period on an unassisted goal from Adam who was able to pick up the puck from a scramble in front of the Cyclones net and flick it top shelf.  Listowel came back with a vengeance and were determined to break Reidy's perfect game.  After a bit of a lapse in Mitchell's end, the Cyclones were able to take many shots on Reidy.  After at least 3 or 4 amazing saves, the Cyclones notched their first and only goal of the night. With time running down, the boys were getting tired and found themselves short-handed.  That didn't stop their aggressive offence and Eisler skated into the Cyclones end in full control and found a wide open MacArthur ('03) who drilled the puck to the net and completed Mitchell's victory at 6-1. Great passing by all three lines and an amazing effort tonight boys!  Keep up the great work!
